Use this file
[edit]Use this file on a wiki - Provides wiki code snippets to use the file on a wiki (eg Wikipedia)
No, actually it's only useful for Wikipedia, period/full-stop, because it's a purely internal link. It's not in the least bit helpful "on a wiki", unless it's Wikipedia specifically. If you're running your own Mediawiki wiki, no help. --Calton (talk) 03:46, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- What about Wiktionary, Wikisource, Wikibooks…? As well as all the MediaWiki running mw:InstantCommons. Jean-Fred (talk) 17:11, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
Proposed modifications
[edit]I've proposed a couple of modifications to the way this gadget outputs links through the Use this file link. The discussion is at Commons:Village pump/Proposals#Proposed modifications to Gadget-Stockphoto and input would be appreciated. ColonialGrid (talk) 16:34, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
error report for downloading webm lower resolutions
[edit]See the error report on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T173595 . Downloading low resolution through this tool for webm files gives invalid files. Effeietsanders (talk) 09:43, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Bring attributions in line with MediaViewer
[edit]On certain files, Stockphoto and MediaViewer generate different attributions. For example, on File:Karel_Nádherný_z_Borutína_1904_(SOA_Praha).jpg:
- Stockphoto: State Regional Archives in Prague, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons
- MediaViewer: By Jindřich Eckert - State Regional Archives in Prague, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=142556916
The latter seems much more appropriate, given it mentions both the author and institution (while Stockphoto mentions just the institution). Would it be possible to bring those in line? Martin Urbanec (talk) 23:27, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
