I also love Fripito – app with travel photography guides. Just started subscription model where you can get all the guides for the price of one!

I cannot keep up with all the great apps out there, so I really appreciate posts like this. As a mom, I love the idea of Tourlina. It does sound like a safe way to find travelmates. I already use maps.me and Rome 2 Rio…two of my favorites. Thanks for the app update!

All great ideas, but it’s about freaking time I download Rome 2 Rio. I have heard nothing but fab things about this app, but my phone is never near me at just the right moment to remember to download it. Well today is the day! I’m going to Poland alone next week and haven’t yet bothered to figure out how to get to town and get around, so going to look it up right now!

Great list! I’ve recently discovered another one which I would recommend to, it’s called Fripito, an awesome app for downloading photo guides of the city you’re in. Local tips by local photographers so you don’t come home with the same old tourist shots everyone else did :)

Thanks for collating such an epic app list! Mi Vista looks like a mist-have app for any traveler and Astrill VPN is a smart way to go when we rely so heavily on information and sharing our information on the web.

Some great apps here and some new ones I’ve not heard of before. I wasn’t a big fan of Google translate initially but then I found the camera function which is amazing for travelling in Asia and kanji, so useful!
