I found Cambodia fascinating but incredibly depressing and both my husband and I were likewise afflicted in Pp! I don’t think I ate any ants though

Don’t worry Rutavi, plenty of amazing vegan and vegetarian options in Cambodia! I’ll check your India post out! <3

I manage to avoid monsters in my belly while in Cambodia, though I did have some issues with the tiny red market sausages. I will remember to stick to frogs in future. =) Thanks for sharing this story, I had a totally different but somehow similar experience in Cambodia where a friend and I where pretty seriously harassed by a bunch of bozos at a bus terminal. The thing that got to me was the fact men, women and families stopped to watch like it was spectator sport. It feels like after seeing so much, the empathy has been washed out of some people. It kind of puts into perspective how important some of theses social aspects are in everyday life and definitely affects how I act towards others. I don’t want to live in a world where you can watch others pain and feel nothing.

Wow what a crazy story Crystal. I don’t think anyone knows how they would react in a situation until it happens. I really don’t know what I would do (!)

When I was in PP I saw a dead person as well. A motorbike had gone in to the front of an SUV on that main road strip. Going at a speed that would have meant he’d died quickly. The whole front of the SUV was caved in. It’s such a strange disassociated feeling you get when you have death happen so close to you. The story above is a little concerning, though. If the guy was still alive but drowning why didn’t they do anything? Could they not have thrown something in? Which makes me ponder an interesting question… If someone is dying but not dead, would you do everything within your power to stop it or would you step back and let what will happen, happen?

Thank you so much. I need to write a happy piece pronto me thinks! Cambodia understandably has a lot of dark things to see and reflect on but I also saw some truly inspirational and joyous moments there!

Hey Ryan! Haha, sounds like you and me have belly blunders in Asia too much for our readers’ ears to take. I try and remain polite and British on the issue but let’s face it, Bali Belly is gonna get you at some point!
